Funkin Pro: Instagram Amplification Strategy (Impero)
Funkin Pro needed a way to grow its Instagram following that didn't rely on organic reach alone. The brand had strong product-market fit in the on-trade cocktail space, but its social presence wasn't translating that credibility into follower growth or sustained engagement. The brief: build a strategy that combines smarter creative with paid mechanics to convert visibility into an actual, growing community — while keeping a clear eye on where the brand needed to be by 2027.
Strategic Thinking: Rather than treating growth as a paid-media problem or a content problem, the strategy treated it as both, working in tandem.
The existing content mix leaned heavily on product shots and collab posts that performed well for reach but did little to convert viewers into followers. The strategy reframed the content pillars around moments and use-occasions that Funkin's audience — bartenders, at-home mixologists, hospitality-adjacent creators — actually search for and share, making the account itself a reason to follow rather than just a brand to glance past.
Paid amplification mechanics: Alongside the creative shift, the strategy mapped out how Instagram boost spend and Meta Partnership Ads could be used specifically for collab posts, extending the reach of creator partnerships beyond their organic ceiling and directing that spend toward the accounts and formats most likely to convert impressions into follows, not just likes.
The two workstreams were designed to reinforce each other: paid spend on content that wasn't built to convert would have been wasted spend, so the creative repositioning came first, with the paid mechanics layered on to amplify what was already working.
